Our employees are making an incredible impact in their communities through volunteering. Outside 1001 Hours of Impact, many have dedicated their time, energy, and passion to various causes close to their heart. Whether it was lending a helping hand at local shelters, participating in environmental clean-ups, or supporting community events, they have played an essential role in making a positive difference. Keep reading to learn how Tammy and Regina are making an impact.
Tammy Evans, operations manager for Clear Spring Property and Casualty Group, gives her time and talent as the Lake-Lehman High School Football Booster Club president. This comes after years of volunteering as the photographer, secretary, treasurer, president of Boys Lacrosse Boosters, and everything in between. (Photo above.)
“I got involved because I saw a need for improved communication, and rather than complain in the background, I decided to step up. I’ve developed some lasting friendships with other volunteers over the years, and I really enjoy the gratitude the athletes express to us when we provide them fun perks like pasta dinners, bowling parties, or meals on the bus. Making and capturing memories with these kids and their families is very fulfilling,” Tammy said.
Regina Neville, senior quality assurance analyst, is helping at the Keith Family YMCA in Charlotte, N.C. for the Greatest Cookout and backpack giveaway with school supplies. This giving-back event is hosted by Greater Church Charlotte on August 5. The group hopes to “send kids off to school right this year and help our community.” The goal is to fill 500 backpacks and celebrate with games, food, and fellowship. Regina is volunteering to make a difference in the lives of children in need.
